Taste and see....
There was this town with a local church everyone went to every Sunday for services. And there was also this man, who'd every so often pop up in the middle of service, screaming down the aisle and arrowing questions and remarks at the pastor who was preaching. It got so bad, that not before long, a few pastors decided to leave the church.

In another town, was this young chap, who's training as a pastor, in seminary school. He dreams of becoming a preacher, excited to preach the Word of God to the masses. He prayed that God would grant him a position somewhere as a pastor, where he could learn to preach and be involved in the community there.

A few weeks after, this young chap saw an advertisement in the local church community circular that a town, not far from here, is seeking for people to take up a pastoring role in their church. He wrote in to that church and soon after, he got the job.

Excited, he made his way down to the town where he'd be preaching for the very first time. Now, that Sunday, the church was extremely packed. Much talk has been going around that a new preacher is in town and they were sure that this man who always sprang into the church in the middle of service would definitely spring in this Sunday.

So the service began and the young preacher was sharing with the congregation how he came about being there, where sure enough, a man came running down the aisle of the church, screaming at this new preacher. This preacher has a habit of carrying an orange with him to the pulpit. He loves oranges, and he'd usually eat one after class or after sharing a word.

Upon seeing this man barging into the church, we called out to the man to calm down and asked him up onto the stage. The preacher took out his orange and passed it to the man, asking the man to peel the orange for him. The man, bewildered, did as he was told and the congregation watched. The preacher then asked the man to half the orange and give him a slice. And so the man did. After finishing that slice, the preacher asked the man for another. The man did so as well. One slice after another the preacher asked, and the man peeled it for it one by one, each time getting more and more infuriated.

When the preacher finished eating the entire orange, he asked the man, "Did my orange taste good?"

To which the man replied, "How in the world would I know?! I didn't even taste it!!"

The preacher turned to the congregation, then to the man and said, "Taste, and see that the Lord is good."

With that, the man walked down the stage and queitly sat among the crowd as the congregation applauded the preacher for the analogy he used.

Have you tasted my Lord?

Happy Easter. Rejoicing with you, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. =)
