hello! here's me rattling away again... since my last post, life has been rather packed and fulfilling.
jr tribe was down for choir and i signed up to serve on the last two weeks of august. my, it was fun. furthermore, the last two weeks of august were rather significant weekends. 19th was miracle weekend and 26th was GCYC closing weekend. it was such a priviledge to be serving during these two weekends, where i see myself seeking to perfect the actions and lyrics of songs. because this was a tribe effort, of course i also got to know people from other cell groups. all in all i enjoyed myself tremedously. two weeks of commitment was just nice as well.. if i took on all 4 weeks, i think it'd be too much for my aging body... hahaha! gotta admit that i'm getting old.
then there was GCYC which stands for gateway cities youth convention. yes yes, so many acronymns and that's so typical singapore language culture. everyone uses it and certain terms uses the same acronymns and everyone gets confused! haha. oh well.. i guess we use acronymns to ease up characters on sms. haha.
anyways, GCYC was ok... last year's GCYC was so much better and not to mention touching as well. though this year's also has its touching moments. i was really excited abt vietnam this yr because i go there almost every month to visit my office there. last yr, only 2 representatives from vietnam came. this yr, there were 24! wow! what a great work God is doing in that nation.
vietnam is a beautiful nation.. with very beautiful people. beautiful not simply externally but internally. and one of my prayer for them is that this inner beauty and morals will be preserved as the nation is opening up and being exposed to so many other cultures and people from different backgrounds.
i got an email address of one of the delegates. hopefully i will get to keep in touch with them. was too tired during the convention to actually hang out with them all. sigh...
i've been blessed richly by sermons lately. i enjoy it when we do character study. coz we can see that Godly character being shone in real life, in motion. and i enjoy teaching it to my kids at GKidz. it is fun to teach because you can draw parallels from your own life and their lives and the lives of people all around. when learning is relevant, learning is real.
this week's gonna be quite a breeze. busy at work but thankfully relaxin' after. gonna be meeting one of my sec sch friends this wk... looking back, we've been friends for more than 10yrs! so nostalgic.
that's all i have on my mind to rattle on. more news soon... watch this space.
