had an eventful last weekend.

last friday had my company 50th anniversary gala dinner held at grand copthorne. was totally not looking forward to the event because of some really bad marketing events organised by the marketing team previously. plus, i still gotta go on stage to sing the company song... -_-"

friday we had half day with bulk of the working time being channeled to the opening of one of our showrooms. and then off i went for lunch and to doll up myself before heading down to the event.

there was a photo-taking session going on for free. i only managed to squeeze one picture out of the many people who were waiting their turn until the digi papers for printing the photos ran out. oh well... i'm pretty glad i took this one picture. it's a picture of myself and dad! in case you didn't know, my dad and i work in the same company. here's the pix...

the event was pretty good actually. hmmm, maybe i enjoyed the food most. haha. well, it started off with a laser show and some drum display. there were also fireworks! imagine, indoors.... it stank after due to poor ventilation and the whole ballroom smell like gunpowder...

anyway, the 881 sisters came too. when i first heard that they hired them before the event, i was like "oh no, it better not turn out to be a 7th month festival show"... and my fears were realised. their costumes weren't loud but the songs they sang... oooo.. ok.. enough said.

after that item was the long service award presentation. plus, some of my aunts are retiring. imagine, they've been working in this company for 40 years! 40 years... that would be the amount of service i would pour into this company too if i'm fortunate enough to work till retirement.

then it was my turn.. zzzzz... ok, it wasn't that bad. and the holding of the mikes was a very good idea indeed. beats silly hand actions. many people actually thought we sang live. wahahaha! that's how real lip synch-ing looks. so now we know that what we see on tv might not really be what it seems.

ta da... end of event.

saturday... it was the SA12 youth retreat. well, sorta, no staying over though. i couldn't be there in the morning where they all play at east coast park because i had a doctor's appointment. it was with my gynae. the wait was soooooo long. golly. waited an hour to see him and then another 45 minutes for my medicine to be dispensed. but the wait was well worth it. here's another amazing picture of my baby.

you can see clearly the head and legs now. compared to the previous picture i posted. baby's 3.4cm and supposed to be 10 weeks, 5 days old, though when i saw the gynae that day, i was only 10 weeks, 1 day. hahaha. praise God for the rapid growth! and guess what? i took my weight and i actually lost some. i have a feeling that i must keep using the same scale to measure my weight. maybe the weight gain i had was not real. doctor says it's ok but i must start gaining weight from now on. so scary.

anyway, isn't it amazing? how God has created our bodies to build new lives? it's such a wonder and it's a wonderful feeling to see this life taking place inside my own body!

then off i went, zooting off back to the youth retreat. had a time of word and worship. heard from my girls that they enjoyed getting wet from the games and then we had a short time of sharing and it was back to games again.

we played saboteur. hahaha. it was such a fun game. we all had a great time laughing and cheering. hahaha. then my girls played "who killed doctor lucky" with sing ai while i caught forty winks. so tired out from the day of running around. plus sleeping at 1am the night before and waking at 7.30am.

in the evening, we had a farewell bbq for lawrence who will be leaving for switzerland this sunday for work for a year! but sadly, i wasn't allowed to eat anything barbecued because of the growing foetus and hubby had to ta bao boring hor fun for me. zzzzzzz... oh well, all for the baby.

met up with P and LW. hasn't seen them for ages. they have a little bundle of joy a year old now i think and they were giving me advice on pregnancy and post-natal support. looks like both of us are in the same boat when it comes to certain issues in our lives. i shall not mention them here. and then i suddenly realise that probably most couples go through the same thing. that's why your relationship with your spouse must be strong to ride through the waves that the world throws at you.

it was another late night again for me... and sunday was church.

this friday is gonna be another company event - a farewell lunch buffet for everyone to say goodbye to those who're retiring this year. food, food, glorious food.

oh yes, i talked abt the weekend and forgot all about the wonderful time i had spent with some of my friends.

last tuesday i met up with KX, who's getting married in december. so happy for her... to find someone she loves to settle down with. and the following day, i met up with some of my cell sisters, thanks to ST for organising it. was downloading my woes and concerns that night and it really felt good to hear that they'll be praying for me. it really lifted my spirits.

so that's all for now... enjoyed last week. but i think for the next 2 weeks i'll take it slow. i don't think my body can take so much activity.
